America and China Tension:- New Year 2022 can be reason for Cold War.

  The US and Japan have expressed concern about the growing threat from China.  They will increase defense cooperation to counter this.  Both countries have also committed to work together against attempts to destabilize the region. 

 In the joint statement issued after the virtual meeting of the foreign and defense ministers of America and Japan, the growing threat from China and the deepening tensions regarding Taiwan have been mentioned.  The ministers have said that China's neglect of the rules-based order has created political, economic, military and technical challenges in the region and the world.  They will work unitedly to stop this.

 :-Increased threat from North Korea's nuclear program

 Blinken, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said after talks with his Japanese counterpart on Thursday that North Korea's current nuclear and missile program poses an increased threat to the region and the international community, according to IANS.  Blinken's statement came a day before North Korea had claimed a hypersonic missile test.

 Japanese PM pledges to strengthen country's defense capabilities

 Recently, US President Biden has expressed hope that Japan will increase its defense budget.  During a phone call with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in October, Biden had expressed hope that Japan would increase its defense budget, Japanese media reported.  Biden's remarks come at a time when Kishida has committed to building a strong self-defense force to defend the country amid growing threats from China and North Korea, Kyodo News reported, citing a diplomatic source.  Japan has so far kept its defense budget around one percent of the country's GDP.  The Japanese Prime Minister resolved to strengthen the country's defense capabilities.

In the new year, the confrontation between the US and China over Taiwan and Tibet may increase. A cold war-like situation may arise over Taiwan and Tibet. 

 Just ahead of the new year, US President Joe Biden has provoked China by appointing Indian-origin diplomat Azra Zia as his special coordinator for the Tibet issue. China is completely stunned by this move of America. One, the US interference in Tibet and secondly, China has been completely shocked by the appointment of a diplomat of Indian origin. 

 This move of the Biden administration has strengthened the fear that tensions between the US and China are set to increase in the new year as well.

 1- Prof.  Harsh V Pant says that there is bound to be a conflict between China and America on the diplomatic front.  The Biden administration will definitely make a concrete strategy against China.  This year also the diplomatic war between the two countries is expected to intensify.  On the diplomatic front, the Biden administration has set its agenda.  Therefore, whether it is the issue of Taiwan or Tibet, there are more chances of diplomatic war on both the fronts.  He said that Biden's Conference of Democratic Countries should be seen as this link.  The democratic convention was focused only on China and Russia.  By doing this, the Biden administration has indicated that the ideological war between the two countries will intensify in the future.
